About: Foreign Language School based in Shantou is in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong with a population of 5.6 million people. A popular tourist destination due to it’s food culture, charming well-preserved historic colonial era architecture in the Old Town, scenic hiking hills and Nan Ao island’s sandy beaches.
Travel: A high speed rail station connecting us to Guangzhou, Shenzhen (next to Hong Kong) and Xiamen in one to two hours. Those cities have international airports but our airport also has daily flights to many cities including Beijing and Shanghai. But with a much lower cost of living then these cities, so everything you earn can basically be banked, besides the low apartment rental costs compared to the other cities mentioned before.
School expectations: Passionate, energetic and dedicated educator!
- Starting Date: August 1st 2024 (for one month of training and orientation)
- Work hours: Mon-Fri from 8am- 5:30pm (2 hour lunch break)
- Students: Grades 1-12 （You will be assigned certain grades)
Compensation and Benefits:
- 25-26k RMB /month depending on experience
- Salary paid during school holidays and national statutory holidays
- Work and resident permit (Z-visa) will be provided
- One-time settling in bonus 1500RMB
- Settling in support including Welcome info pack for WeChat, Alipay, Didi taxi, shared bikes, banking, how to order imported food, cheese, USDA/Australian steak, pasta etc etc
- Return flight to home country or 7000RMB bonus for contract completion
- Annual Spring Festival bonus, 1000RMB
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver English lessons based on the school curriculum
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student learning and development
- Participate in school events and activities
- 13-14 actual hours of classes per week
Pre-requisites for your application:
| Nationality: | American, Canadian, British, Australian, New Zealander, South Africa and other countries |
| Degree: | Bachelor Degree or higher |
| TESOL: | Yes |
| Experience: | Ideally 2 years of teaching experience elementary or secondary experience But at the very least open-minded about training and development |
